Nigel Farage, the well-known presenter and former leader of the Brexit Party, recently responded to remarks made by Michael Heseltine. During a heated session on GB News, Farage criticized Heseltine, describing him as “filled with bile, hatred, and intolerance.
The conversation began with Farage addressing comments made by Heseltine at the Hay Festival. Heseltine had stated, “Racism is basically what underpins UKIP and Reform. I’ve lived through some of the most tumultuous events of our time, and the common theme is racism.” Farage strongly disagreed, stating, “He is a fanatical pro-European globalist filled with bile, hatred, and intolerance. He’s a modern-day liberal who can’t accept different views and sinks to abuse.
Farage’s response highlighted his longstanding opposition to Heseltine’s views. “Rather than saying, ‘Well, you know what, I’ve got a different point of view,’ he sinks to abuse. He’s been doing it over and over with UKIP, with me. Whether he does that, people still listen. He’s an old bore,” Farage added, expressing his frustration with Heseltine’s repeated criticisms.
The discussion then moved to Farage’s upcoming appearance on BBC’s Question Time. “It’s my first time in five years, and it’s always a significant platform,” Farage noted. He expressed his surprise at the paperwork required for the show, saying, “I had to clarify my gender and other details, which I found unnecessary.
Farage also touched on potential dealings with the Conservative Party. When asked about a possible deal, he clarified, “I was asked why don’t you stand down for X or Y. Over the years, I’ve done favors for the Conservatives, like in 2019 when I stood aside for Boris Johnson. But they give nothing back. There is no deal.”
