Tyler Perry publicly criticized Meghan Markle for her refusal to pay tribute to the legendary TV producer Norman Lear, who passed away at the age of 101. Perry, known as the media mogul and the godfather to Meghan Markle’s daughter Lilet, expressed his disappointment in The Duchess of Sussex for not honoring Lear. He accused Markle of being ungrateful and disrespectful because Lear had rejected her audition for a role in the 2019 reboot of “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons.”

Perry had previously collaborated with Lear on the live remake of his classic sitcoms in May 2019, featuring an all-star cast. However, Lear was not impressed by her performance and chose to cast Ellie Keer instead.
