A 24-year-old former police officer, Luke Christopher Horner, has admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old girl. He used to work for Thames Valley Police. Horner went to Northamptonshire when he was not on duty and did this bad thing on June 11.
In court, Horner said he was guilty of having s*x with a child. He left his job as a police officer on July 26.
He recorded the bad thing he did on the girl’s phone. The police said Horner traveled for over an hour from his home in Buckinghamshire to commit the crime in Northamptonshire.
Horner said he was guilty in court through a video link. The police charged him with this crime, and his former police department is also investigating his behavior.
The judge kept Horner in custody until they decide his punishment on September 8.
The police officer who was in charge of the investigation thanked the girl’s family for trusting them. She said it was good that Horner admitted his guilt because it saved the family from having to go through a trial. The police officer also said it was a serious case because Horner was a police officer and should have protected people, not hurt them.
Another police officer praised the investigation that led to Horner’s confession. He said that Horner betrayed the trust people put in him and that the young girl deserved to be protected.
The community is shocked by this, and it shows how important it is for police officers to be honest and trustworthy. The guilty plea is a relief for the girl’s family, and now Horner will be punished for what he did.
