Prince Andrew will benefit from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the British Royal Family, following King Charles’ orders.
In March 2023, nearly three years after stepping down as working royals, Harry and Meghan were asked to leave their UK home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. They had lived there since 2019 after Queen Elizabeth gifted it to them.
The couple renovated the cottage into a four-bedroom home with a nursery, worth about £2.4 million. Now, they live in Montecito, California, leaving Frogmore Cottage empty.
King Charles reportedly wanted them to leave so someone else could move in, with reports suggesting that person is Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew is currently in a dispute over Royal Lodge, his current home. When Harry and Meghan were told to leave Frogmore Cottage, the King looked for options to resolve Andrew’s housing situation, insisting he leave Royal Lodge. This happened as Harry and Meghan’s feud with the Royal Family remains unresolved, partly due to their Netflix documentary.
It seems there will be no return for Harry and Meghan once Andrew moves into Frogmore Cottage.
Prince Andrew settled a sexual assault civil case in 2022 and has been keeping a low profile, staying with his older brother Charles. He lives at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife, Sarah, but the King wants him out of the 30-room home. To make the transition easier, Andrew might move to Frogmore Cottage, also in Windsor.
Andrew, who no longer has official duties due to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, has reportedly been told that Charles will cut ties with him if he doesn’t comply.
