Kate Middleton has been ‘bullied’ on social media, like Meghan Markle, a royal expert has said.
Kate Middleton, who has taken time away from the limelight to focus on her heath, made a rare public appearance at Trooping The Colour last weekend.
The royal announced she would join her family on the Buckingham Palace balcony the day before, in a heartfelt statement where she admitted she’s having ‘good and bad days.
The Princess of Wales is currently undergoing preventative cancer treatment after being diagnosed with at type of the disease earlier this year.
Prior to telling the world her diagnosis, which some experts claim she was ‘forced’ to do, speculation grew out of control over absences. Now, a royal expert compares the treatment of Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle.
Kinsey Schofield, royal commentator, spoke to TalkTV about the reaction to Kate’s appearance following a long absence of more than 170 days.
“One of the reasons that she released that statement and the beautiful photo before the event, was because she didn’t want it to be something that overshadowed the King’s birthday.
“She learned a lesson from the Photoshop event and is being ridiculously honest with us and up front.”
The host then read a fan comment that didn’t look on the 42-year-old lightly.
They said: “Am I missing something? Catherine put a frock on and stood on a balcony, it’s not like she did a 10-hour cleaning shift. Plenty of people with cancer just have to get on with life.”
Kinsey responded: “I would never wish to be Catherine, the Princess of Wales. She receives more negative attention than likely any other woman in the world, aside from Meghan Markle, who does receive a lot of negative attention.
“That’s a tough job, to be a Wales woman, it’s a tough job that Princess Diana, Fergie, as an example. We’re very critical of these women. I won’t repeat some of the rumors online as they have been cruel, to step back into the world, it was courageous, and I felt like it was very brave.
“It showed how strong she was because she was putting into the speculation that has bordered on vulgar and real cruelty on social media, it truly has been bullying.”
Kate underwent planned abdominal surgery in January at The London Clinic, the same place King Charles had an operation for an enlarged prostate
Kensington Palace at the time announced the procedures, and said the Princess of Wales is likely to return to work after Easter.
As the weeks followed, cruel rumors online speculation on her absence from events, especially when husband Prince William apologized for her absence.
She then told the world she had been diagnosed with cancer, and had been taking the time to deal with the diagnosis as a family, and her top priority being their three children.
Despite the news, trolls are still spreading fake news around the 42-year-old.
