Prince Harry probably won’t be going to London for a royal reunion, despite what some reports say, according to a royal expert. Why? Because, in their opinion, Harry, 39, would have already tried to arrange a meeting with his father, King Charles III, or his brother, Prince William, when he was in the UK earlier in 2024.
Expert Jennie Bond dismissed reports that Harry might head to England for a reunion with King Charles and Prince William. She argued that if Harry really wanted to fix things with his family, he would have planned more time for his visits in February and May 2024 so his father could make arrangements to see him.
Regarding William possibly reaching out to Harry, Bond said it’s highly unlikely. “I don’t think William has any interest in doing so, especially with everything he’s dealing with right now,” she said. The future king returned to royal duties in late April 2024 after taking a break due to Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.
“I’ll believe this when I see it,” Bond continued. “But it would be lovely if Harry could spend some time, maybe at Balmoral, during the summer to make peace with his father.” Previous reports said King Charles might invite Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, to the family’s summer retreat. However, there’s no confirmation of this visit yet.
Bond’s comments came after OK! reported that Harry felt “upset and emotional” watching Trooping the Colour footage at home in Montecito, California. An insider claimed, “He can’t believe it’s come to this and says he’s going to fly over and make them face him. He’s still a prince, and they’re still his family. He won’t just be cast aside.
Harry, who left royal duties more than four years ago in March 2020, is still hurt by the rift with his family. “He’s heartbroken and confused by how he’s being treated by the royals,” the source said. “It’s like he doesn’t exist anymore.
When asked if the king’s illness could bring the family together, Harry replied, “Absolutely. I see families coming together through illness all the time. It makes me very happy.
However, some of Harry’s hope for a reunion might have faded. In May 2024, he visited London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but didn’t meet with King Charles. No royals attended the anniversary service at St. Paul’s Cathedral either. Only relatives of his late mother, Princess Diana, showed their support. That same week, King Charles made William head of Harry’s former British Army regiment.
