An author has said that Kate Middleton is planning to return fully to her royal duties. They believe the Princess of Wales will not “disappear from the spotlight” despite many reports suggesting she might have a quieter public life. Kate Middleton has not been seen in a public role for six months. Her last public appearance was on December 25, 2023, when she joined the royal family for a Christmas Day church service
In January 2024, Kate had planned surgery on her abdomen and took time off to heal. The public wanted to know why she was missing, so in March, Kate shared a video explaining that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
After sharing this news, Kate stayed out of the public eye to go through chemotherapy treatment. There have been rumors that she might come back to her royal duties in a different way.
Royal author Christopher Andersen has a different view. He told Fox News, “Let’s not rush to conclusions.”
“Kate is fighting cancer, and it makes sense that she is not in public right now,” Andersen said. “I believe Kate will return to her royal duties once she has followed all her doctors’ advice and beaten the illness.” He continued, “Kate cares deeply about her family and her duty to the country. She knows how important her roles are as the Princess of Wales, the future queen, the wife of a future king, and the mother of a future king. She did not wait ten years to marry her prince only to step back now.”
Andersen also thinks that Kensington Palace should be more open about Kate’s situation to stop false stories from spreading.
“There are too many wild guesses about the Princess of Wales’ health,” Andersen said. “If she cannot attend the Trooping the Colour because of chemotherapy side effects, they should tell us now,” he advised.
He added, “Just saying she is missing a rehearsal is not enough. Leaving everyone guessing leads to crazy rumors like ‘we might never see her again.'”
Kensington Palace has said that Kate Middleton will not be at the Colonel’s review of the Irish Guards, a role she has had since March 2023.
It is still unclear if Kate will be at the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15, 2024. The New York Post suggests that royal fans should not be surprised if she makes a short appearance during the King’s birthday parade.
Instead of joining the whole ceremony with other senior royals, Kate might appear briefly on the Buckingham Palace balcony. She could stand with Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to watch the traditional RAF Flypast.
However, none of this has been confirmed by Kensington Palace. If her doctors advise against it, Kate might miss this event for the first time in 13 years.
Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011 and became Princess of Wales in September 2022.
