An author claims that Kate Middleton is preparing to make a full return to her royal duties and will not “recede into the shadows,” despite reports suggesting she plans to reduce her public appearances.
The Princess of Wales has not been seen publicly since December 25, 2023, when she attended a Christmas Day church service with the royal family. In January 2024, Kate had scheduled abdominal surgery and then stayed out of the public eye to recover. In March, she released a video explaining that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.
Since then, there have been reports that Kate might return to public life in a more limited role. However, royal author Christopher Anderson has a different perspective. Speaking to Fox News, Anderson said, “Let’s not jump the gun, folks.
Kate is undergoing cancer treatment, and it’s perfectly understandable that she’s out of the picture for the moment. There is no doubt in my mind that Kate will return to public life once she’s satisfied that she’s done everything her doctors have told her to do to defeat her illness.”
Anderson emphasized that Kate is committed to her family and her duties as the Princess of Wales. He said, “Kate is all about her family, but she is also all about duty to her country. She is keenly aware of the roles she plays as Princess of Wales, the future queen, wife of a future king, and mother to a future monarch. Kate didn’t spend 10 years waiting to land her prince so that she could eventually recede into the shadows.”
Anderson also criticized Kensington Palace’s silence on Kate’s health, saying it allows the media to create false stories. He believes the palace should be more transparent. Anderson said, “There’s too much rampant speculation about the Princess of Wales’ health.
If she can’t make it to Trooping the Colour because of the side effects of chemotherapy, then say it now. Don’t keep everyone hanging because that gives rise to absurd statements like ‘we may never see her again.’”
