According to a report by Express, the Christmas Carol Service, hosted by Kate and supported by The Royal Foundation, aimed to honor individuals dedicated to supporting infants, young children, and families across the UK. The event, scheduled to be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve at 7:45 pm, featured a special surprise, the piano on which John Lennon composed and performed “Imagine,” a peace anthem of the 20th century. Kate borrowed this significant instrument, a walnut-finished upright Steinway model Z piano, purchased by George Michael in 2000 for £1.45 million and loaned by his estate for the occasion.
The service included performances by the Westminster Abbey choir, Jacob Collier, Freya Ridings, James Bay, and a duet by Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert. Noteworthy figures, such as the Prince of Wales, Micheal Ward, Emma Willis, Roman Kemp, and Jim Broadbent, contributed readings. Additionally, a specially commissioned poem by Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho was read by Leonie Elliott.
