Princess Kate has a negative reaction whenever she hears about Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex and the wife of her estranged brother-in-law Prince Harry, according to a new book by royal journalist Omid Scobie.
The book, titled Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, is set to be released on November 28, 2023, and promises to reveal the secrets and scandals of the House of Windsor in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022.
According to a report by Express, Scobie, who is known as a close ally of Harry and Meghan and the co-author of their biography Finding Freedom, claims that Kate “shudders and giggles” every time she hears about Meghan, implying that she has a disdainful and dismissive attitude towards her former sister-in-law.
The book also alleges that Kate and Meghan never had a close relationship, despite their initial attempts to bond over their common interests and roles. Scobie writes that Kate felt threatened by Meghan’s popularity and charisma, and that she resented her for breaking the royal protocol and challenging the status quo.
According to Scobie, the rift between Kate and Meghan was one of the factors that contributed to the breakdown of the relationship between Harry and his older brother Prince William, who is the heir to the throne and Kate’s husband. Scobie claims that William and Kate were not supportive of Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties and move to the US in early 2020, and that they tried to undermine their efforts to establish their own brand and foundation.
Scobie’s book is expected to cause more controversy and tension within the royal family, as it exposes the conflicts and crises that have plagued the monarchy in recent years. The book is based on Scobie’s extensive experience as a royal reporter and his interviews with sources close to the royals, including palace staff, friends, and family members.
The book also covers other topics, such as the coronation of King Charles III, the relationship between Charles and his wife Queen Camilla, the public image and role of Princess Kate, the scandal involving Prince Andrew and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and the future of the monarchy in a changing world.
