Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has reportedly “moved on” from the royal family and put them in the “rearview mirror” of her life, according to a royal expert. However, her husband Prince Harry still has some “unfinished business” with his father and brother, a source close to the couple said.
Mirror Reported that The Sussexes, who left their senior roles within the royal family in January 2020, have been living in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet. They have also been involved in various projects, such as their Netflix and Spotify deals, their Archewell Foundation, and their memoirs.
British author Andrew Morton, who wrote the book ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, told Fox News Digital that he does not expect Meghan to return to the UK anytime soon. He said: “Meghan is making her own life on the West Coast. The Royal Family is very much in the rearview mirror of her life. She’s moved on.”
He also claimed that Meghan could have plans to start a new version of her lifestyle website, The Tig, which she shut down in 2017 after she started dating Prince Harry. The Tig was a platform for Meghan to share her thoughts on food, travel, fashion, and wellness. Morton said: “From what I gather, Meghan is going to start a new, updated version of [her lifestyle website] The Tig. So I think [the Duke and Duchess of Sussex] got their own lives, and they’ve worked it out. And every day that passes, they’re more established in California.”
Morton also suggested that the Sussexes have an advantage over other royals in terms of fundraising for their charities, as they live in a state that is “crowded with billionaires and millionaires”. He said: “Other royals will envy that they can go to a dinner and raise millions of dollars for their charities. So that’s what they’ll do.”
However, while Meghan seems to have “moved on” from the royal rift, Prince Harry still has some issues to resolve with his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William. A source close to the couple told People that Harry is still struggling with the situation. The source said: “The situation with his father and brother is still very difficult for him. He has unfinished business there.”
The source added that Meghan is “supportive” of Harry and his efforts to mend his relationships with his family. The source said: “She is supportive of him and what he needs to do. She is his partner. They are a unit.”
Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family has been strained since they decided to step back from their duties and move to the US. They have also been very critical of the royal institution and the media in several interviews and their Netflix series, The Me You Can’t See.
The couple last visited the UK in July, when Harry unveiled a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana, with William at Kensington Palace. Meghan stayed in California with their newborn daughter, Lilibet, who was born in June.
Harry is expected to return to the UK next year for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, as well as the unveiling of his mother’s portrait at the National Portrait Gallery. However, it is unclear whether Meghan will join him or not
