The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly anxious about the upcoming release of a tell-all book by Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, who claims to reveal “private family details” and defend the Middletons from the Sussexes’ accusations.
According to a report by Express, The book, titled ‘Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family’, is expected to hit the shelves on August 11 and has been described as “their side of the story” by the authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
According to a royal insider, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are worried that the book will expose their rift with the royal family and damage their reputation further. The source said that Harry and Meghan “won’t like it one bit and will be dreading the book’s release”
They added that Harry may feel nostalgic for his home country and want to spend Christmas in the UK with his old friends and his children, Archie and Lilibet, who have grown up in America their whole life.
However, Meghan may prefer to celebrate Christmas in the US with her mother and extended family, especially after her negative experiences with the British press and the royal family.
The source suggested that Harry and Meghan may face “tension” and “resentment” over their Christmas plans, and that they need to compromise for the sake of their marriage.
They said: “It’s understandable that there may be some tension between Harry and Meghan over their Christmas plans. They have spent the past three Christmases away from Britain, so it’s possible that Harry may feel a sense of nostalgia and want to return to his home country for the holiday.
It would be natural for him to want to show his children the traditions and customs of his country and his upbringing as they have predominantly grown up in America their whole life.
On the other hand, Meghan may feel more comfortable celebrating Christmas in the United States again with her mother and extended family, especially given her negative experiences with the British press and the royal family. Meghan needs to be mindful of compromise: if she chooses to spend Christmas outside of the UK, she should be open to spending future holidays in the country for Harry.”
The book by Gary Goldsmith is said to be a “comeback” account almost a year since the release of the Sussexes’ explosive Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry’s book ‘Spare’, both of which dropped several bombshells about the royal family.
Gary, who is the younger brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, is preparing to reveal “private family details” and give the Middleton family “a voice” in the midst of accusations and criticism levelled at the House of Windsor by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex¹.
Gary has been talking to the press a lot lately and his comments seem to have gone down well with some people, especially his criticism of Harry and Meghan.
According to OK, the source said: “Gary has been talking to the press a lot lately and his comments seem to have gone down well with some people, especially his criticism of Harry and Meghan. He wants to set the record straight and give the Middleton family a voice. He feels they have been unfairly treated by Harry and Meghan, who have made some damaging claims about them. He also wants to share some private family details that he thinks will show Kate in a positive light.”
