King Charles’ reason for reportedly kicking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of Frogmore Cottage has been exposed.
In the wake of Harry’s autobiography Spare, it’s claimed the new monarch has decided to remove the Sussexes from the home that was gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The controversial decision is said to have left the couple “stunned” – while two other royals have also been left “appalled”.
And to add insult to injury, Frogmore has now reportedly been offered to the disgraced Prince Andrew.
It now means Harry and Meghan no longer have a base in the UK and are supposedly arranging the belongings they still have at Frogmore to be sent to their home in California. According to journalist Omid Scobie, one of the authors behind the biography of Harry and Meghan, Finding Freedom, the Sussexes were told that Frogmore was “needed for someone else”.
He explained: “It’s news, sources tell me, that has left Harry and Meghan stunned, and at least two members of the Royal Family ‘appalled’.”
The late Queen gifted Frogmore Cottage to the Sussexes following their wedding back in 2018, so it’s understandably being reported that it has come as a huge blow.
“It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment,” a friend of the couple told Scobie. “It’s like [the family] wants to cut them out of the picture for good.”
It’s claimed the final straw for Charles was his son’s controversial autobiography Spare, which saw many of the family’s intimate secrets exposed to the public.
Harry revealed personal chats with his father, who he claims pleaded with his sons to stop fighting at Windsor after the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
According to Harry, Charles and William were conspiring against him and his father did not hug him after revealing his mother, Princess Diana, had died.
Charles jokingly questioned whether he was Harry’s father and made a ‘poor taste’ joke about rumors James Hewitt is his real dad, claimed the prince.
Harry also said he begged Charles not to marry Camilla, whom he accused of leaking stories to the press and branded a ‘wicked stepmother’.
While we still don’t know whether Harry and Meghan will attend Charles’ coronation, it’s been claimed that shortly after they will need to remove their belongings from Frogmore.
