Police are on high alert after a shocking incident at Acocks Green Railway Station on the evening of July 30. Two men are allegedly involved in the robbery of a 21-year-old passenger, during which one of the suspects reportedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm.
According to British Transport Police, the victim was waiting at the platform’s shelter when he was approached by the two assailants, who requested a cigarette. When the passenger declined their request, one of the men revealed a knife and demanded the young man’s belongings. Fearfully, the victim handed over his phone, cards, and cash.
During the tense encounter, the victim managed to push one of the suspects away, allowing him a glimpse of what he believed to be a gun in the hands of the assailant. The two men hastily fled the scene through the station’s main entrance.
In an effort to apprehend the culprits and bring justice to the victim, authorities have released CCTV images of the two men involved. One of the suspects was seen wearing a tracksuit, while the other was clad in a waterproof coat.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police urged the public to come forward with any information that could aid the ongoing investigation. “These CCTV images may hold crucial information in identifying the suspects and progressing our inquiry,” the spokesperson said.
