There are many animal rescue stories on the internet, but one in particular has captured the hearts of many. A 6-year-old Goldendoodle named Harley rescued a baby deer from drowning in a lake outside his home in Virginia.
Ralph Dorn, a 62-year-old resident of Culpeper, witnessed the heroic act and shared, “Not sure how the fawn got out there but Harley obviously didn’t ask why, he just jumped into action.” Dorn had been searching for Harley when he saw him about 200 feet from shore, guiding the fawn back to safety. This heartwarming story has touched many people.
After helping the fawn up a steep rocky ledge, he carefully placed it onto the soft grass. “Harley kept licking and caring for it, not wanting to leave,” said Dorn.
After the mother deer appeared, Dorn and Harley were separated and Dorn brought Harley indoors. The following morning, another heartwarming event took place.
The owner’s post about rescuing a fawn on Facebook has gone viral with over 250,000 shares.
