Keir Starmer torn apart in brutal seven-word GB News rant after record migrant crossing

James Schneider, the political correspondent for GB News, spoke very bluntly and didn’t hold back when he criticized Prime Minister Keir Starmer. His strong reaction came after new figures showed a big jump in the number of people crossing the English Channel in small boats.

This is a major problem for the Prime Minister, especially since he had made a bold promise earlier this year to crack down on illegal immigration and “smash the gangs” that organize these dangerous journeys.

Just this past Tuesday, April 15, around 700 migrants arrived in UK waters in one day alone. That’s the highest number recorded in a single day so far this year. It also happened just days after another record-breaking number of arrivals.

These constant increases are raising serious concerns. The total number of people who have made the trip across the Channel in small boats in 2025 has now reached nearly 9,000. That’s a huge jump compared to last year—about 40 percent more than the 6,265 who had made the journey by this time in 2024.

This rise in crossings makes things look really bad for Keir Starmer. When he took office, he strongly promised the public that his government would take firm action and stop the criminal gangs responsible for human smuggling.

He said the government would be tough, but now it seems like the situation is getting worse, not better. The pressure is mounting, and many people are beginning to question whether his plans are working at all.

On the following day, Wednesday April 16, GB News hosts Eamonn Holmes and Miriam Cates brought James Schneider on the show to talk about what’s going on. Schneider didn’t hold back.

He criticized Starmer live on air, calling out the Prime Minister for what he sees as a failure to keep his promises and protect the country’s borders. Schneider’s comments were strong, and he seemed frustrated with the government’s lack of progress.
