Prince William is really frustrated with his younger brother, Prince Harry. The two brothers have been distant for quite some time, and things seem to be getting worse.
William, who is 42 years old, is particularly upset because Harry keeps talking about their late mother, Princess Diana, in public. William feels that Harry is bringing up Diana’s name too often and using it in ways that are not respectful.
Recently, Harry spoke about Diana in a documentary called *Tabloids on Trial*, which aired in the UK. In the documentary, Harry suggested that their mother had been a victim of phone hacking by the British tabloids back in the mid-1990s.
He said, “There is evidence to suggest that she was being hacked… And yet still today, the press… enjoy painting her as being paranoid.” Harry strongly believes that his mother was right to be worried about the press, and that she wasn’t paranoid at all. He added, “She was absolutely right about what was happening to her.”
William is reportedly “spitting mad” about these comments. A source close to the royal family said that William is upset because he thinks Harry is using their mother’s memory for attention and possibly even for financial gain.
The source said, “William is fed up with Harry and Meghan cashing in on Diana’s death.” This means that William feels Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are trying to benefit from Diana’s tragic death by constantly bringing it up in the media.
The situation has become so tense that William is considering distancing himself from Harry even more. The source mentioned that William is getting to the point where “he’s washing his hands of Harry for good,” meaning that William might cut ties with his brother entirely.
Harry, on the other hand, has expressed that he feels a strong connection to his mother, especially since leaving royal life in 2020. He told an interviewer in 2022 that it’s almost like Diana is guiding him through life now. He said, “It’s almost as though she’s done her bit with my brother and now she’s very much helping me.
Harry also mentioned that he feels Diana’s presence more than ever in the last two years. He even shared some personal stories about how his son, Archie, became attached to a painting with Diana’s name in it and how a woman with “powers” told him that Diana was watching over him and having a laugh at some of the things happening in his life.
These ongoing discussions about Diana have clearly deepened the rift between the two brothers. William, who is tired of the constant references to their mother, and Harry, who feels strongly that Diana is still a big part of his life, are struggling to find common ground. The situation has put a strain not only on their relationship but also on their connections with their father, King Charles III.
