Keir Starmer drops biggest clue yet he wants to fool voters with theatre

After months of delays and bad decisions, the Labour Government has finally decided to act urgently  but not on illegal immigration, inflation, or issues with the EU.

Instead, they focused on making a show in Parliament, all to create drama around British Steel. It’s frustrating because British Steel is important. It affects communities like Port Talbot, it’s vital for our national security, and it plays a big role in our industrial future.

The Conservatives understood this. They invested £500 million to help British Steel go green and protect thousands of jobs. The plan wasn’t perfect, but it was real and ready to go. Since Labour came into power in Wales and gained more influence in Westminster, they’ve wasted time. Rather than improving the plan, they’ve been stuck trying to satisfy both aggressive unions and environmental activists. And now, nothing’s moving forward.

In an attempt to appear strong after weeks of negative headlines — including the mess in Rochdale and growing doubts about Starmer’s leadership — Labour called MPs in on a Saturday. Not to fix real problems, but to stage a performance. It was all for show.

Don’t be misled. This isn’t genuine leadership — it’s politics pretending to be action. Labour had plenty of time and did nothing but argue and pose. They were given a solid plan to save steel but ignored it until the news started to turn against them.

This isn’t even their first stunt. Remember when Starmer visited the White House to talk peace and trade with Trump? They tried to spin it as his big moment, but it fell apart when people realized there was no real plan.

The British people deserve better. Our industries need stability. Workers need clear direction. And Parliament shouldn’t be used for photo opportunities.

As someone who fought for British manufacturing, I know how tough it can be. But there’s a big difference between leading and pretending to lead. Labour has picked the second option.

Steel won’t be saved with slogans. It needs real policies, tough choices, and a long-term vision — things the Conservatives were already delivering. Labour needs to drop the act and get serious about governing.
