Immigration expert delivers ‘simple solution’ as migrant crossings hit RECORD high: ‘Boats operating as taxis!’

Today saw a new record for the number of people crossing the English Channel in small boats, according to GB News reports from Dover.
A total of 669 migrants arrived, breaking the previous record of 656 set just a few days earlier. One more boat, carrying about 70 people, was still on its way toward the UK.
Immigration expert Mike Jones offered what he called a “simple solution” to stop these crossings. Speaking on GB News, he explained that current international laws especially those from the United Nations mean boats have to help people at sea, like a taxi service.
He said unless the UK pulls out of those agreements, the country has no choice but to follow those rules. If they don’t, and people die at sea, the government could be held legally responsible.
Jones suggested that the only way to really stop the crossings is to detain and deport migrants after they arrive. He believes this would discourage others from attempting the dangerous journey.
He also responded to concerns about the rising number of people being crammed into each boat. One boat reportedly had 70 people on board, which Jones called “a disaster waiting to happen.
He said smugglers are packing more people into boats because French authorities are making it harder to launch from Calais. With less time to act, smugglers are rushing people onto boats, increasing the danger for everyone on board.
Even though it’s been raining heavily across the Channel, UK and French patrol teams have been overwhelmed by the number of small boats trying to cross.
This rise in crossings is a big problem for Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He had promised to crack down on smuggling gangs, but the growing numbers are raising doubts about his government’s ability to deliver. A source involved in maritime security said it’s clear the gangs are not being stopped—and that the situation is only getting worse.
