Being respectful to your family starts with being polite and courteous. It also means learning how to listen to each other, even when you disagree or are upset. Showing you care and being there for one another is another way to be respectful.
Unfortunately, not everyone respects these boundaries. A case involving a 27-year-old man named Euno is a disturbing example. Euno was caught in his car with an 11-year-old girl, who happened to be his relative.
During the investigation, Euno confessed to kissing the minor in a parking lot. However, the police discovered that Euno was actually dating the 11-year-old girl, which led to more severe charges. Euno was sentenced to five years in prison for child endangerment. As part of his plea deal, he also lost his pharmacy technician registration and will have to register as a sex offender for life. Additionally, he will be under parole supervision for life and may face deportation after his release.
Many people felt that Euno’s punishment was too lenient. Some commented that five years was not enough and that he should be deported instead. Others argued that deporting him would not be enough, as he could return and harm the girl again. Some even thought that the five-year sentence was sufficient, as the inmates would “take care of him” in prison.
