Reform UK Threatens Legal Action Over Kemi Badenoch’s ‘Amateur Hour’ Remarks, Says Richard Tice”
During a discussion on GB News, the escalating tensions between Nigel Farage’s Reform UK and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch took center stage. The conflict, which some describe as spiraling out of control, follows Reform UK’s claim that their membership numbers now exceed those of the Conservative Party—a claim Badenoch dismissed as “fake” and “misleading.”
Farage responded with his trademark bluntness, accusing Badenoch of being “bitter, upset, and angry.” Deputy Leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, joined the program to elaborate on the party’s position. He didn’t hold back, calling Badenoch’s handling of the situation “amateur hour.” Tice added, “I don’t know what she had in her Christmas pudding, but this is just extraordinary naivety from someone claiming to rewire the Tory Party. She’s heading the country toward electrocution.”
Host Ben responded, “Why start this fight during the holidays?” Tice quipped, “We’ve been nothing but generous. We even projected a ‘Happy Christmas’ message onto CCHQ. It’s Kemi who escalated this by accusing us of fraud.”
When pressed on how Reform UK verified their claim of surpassing the Conservative Party’s membership, Tice explained, “We’re transparent. We’ve shown our backend database to publications like The Telegraph and Sky News, and they’ve confirmed our numbers are accurate. We’ve even offered a full audit by a Big Four firm.”
Ben noted that Badenoch claimed the Conservative membership had grown by a few thousand since the leadership election. Tice fired back, “The idea their numbers are increasing is laughable. Their membership has collapsed by 40,000 in the past two years. The only way it’s growing is through people receiving ballot papers after canceling memberships.”
Reform UK has not ruled out legal action if Badenoch refuses to retract her statement. Tice stated, “All we want is an apology. Just admit the mistake, and we can move on. It’s the big thing to do.” He emphasized, “The longer she waits, the worse it looks for her. If she doesn’t apologize, we’ll consider further steps.”
The GB News panel, including Diane Spencer and Alex Dark, weighed in on the drama. Spencer said, “If Nigel Farage is threatening legal action, he needs to follow through. Don’t tease it and do nothing.”
Dark added, “Farage is a PR genius. This is the perfect trap. The Tories walked right into it, and now it’s snowballing. Reform doesn’t need to do much—they’ve already won the narrative.”
Meanwhile, a Conservative spokesperson shifted the blame, saying, “Reform has delivered a Labour government that is cutting winter fuel payments, threatening family farms, and launching a jobs raid. A vote for Reform is a vote for a Labour council.”
Spencer dismissed this, laughing, “That’s ridiculous. The Conservatives failed, and now they’re blaming Reform for splitting the vote.”
As tensions rise, the first test of Reform UK’s influence will be the upcoming local elections in May. While their membership numbers are growing, their ability to convert this into electoral success remains to be seen. For now, the feud between Nigel Farage and Kemi Badenoch continues to capture headlines, with both sides refusing to back down.
