A video showing the Prince of Wales looking unhappy while his wife, Kate, talks to an athlete has gone viral. Prince William and Kate (formerly Kate Middleton) have attended many events together and given out numerous awards. However, a particular event from several years ago is getting attention now because of this viral video.
In 2015, William and Kate visited Portsmouth, in southern England, to meet competitors in the British leg of the America’s Cup World Series sailing race. At that time, Sir Ben Ainslie, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, was the skipper of Britain’s team. The video shows William’s reactions as Sir Ben Ainslie talks and jokes with Kate, which people found interesting.
The 47-second video was posted on TikTok on July 1 and has received hundreds of thousands of views and over 27,000 likes. It’s titled: “He’s so silly.” Viewers found the text in the video, which imagines William’s thoughts, very funny.
In the video, William is seen clapping without much enthusiasm, and the text reads: “Already hates this.” Later, he stands back and crosses his arms while Kate and Ainslie keep talking. The text says William is “pissed off” and “not even trying to hide it.” The video has also received hundreds of comments, with many people finding William’s reactions hilarious.
“I couldn’t stop laughing at his expressions,” one user wrote.
“He was visibly jealous of Sir Ben lmao. It will forever be hilarious,” another said, while a third posted, “Prince William going full Alpha.”
Another person pointed out that the following year, William gave out the medals instead of Kate. The commenter noted, “Remember how next year William decided to give him the medal himself, not Catherine?”
This change in 2016 made sure that Kate and Ainslie were less chatty during the event.
