Mother Carol, 61, and her daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were found dead at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire. The house is worth £800,000. Police believe they were tied up and shot in what they think was a planned attack. There might have been other weapons used too.
Right now, police are looking for Kyle Clifford, 26. He used to date Louise, one of the daughters. Helicopters were seen flying over Enfield, north London, as the police searched for him. They even raided a house and then locked down a nearby primary school after finding his car.
The police say Kyle might be armed and dangerous. If you see him, don’t approach him. Call 999 immediately. At a press conference, the police urged Kyle to turn himself in.
Kyle, who’s from Enfield, used to work as a security guard. Today, their usually quiet street was filled with armed police and forensic officers as they investigated the triple murder.
Louise’s father, John, was at work at Lingfield Park race course when the tragedy happened. When he got home, he discovered what had happened. Neighbors say Louise ran a dog grooming business called Groom and Glow from their home.
A local resident, William Nourallah, spoke highly of Louise. He said she was a beautiful and hardworking young woman, always happy and friendly. Another neighbor, Glyn Nicholas, mentioned that Louise was very upset after breaking up with her boyfriend last week and even crashed her car.
He said Louise was a nice girl who ran a dog grooming business from the house. Her sister Hannah and their mother Carol were also killed. Glyn didn’t know Hannah well, but described Carol as a polite and quiet lady. John, Louise’s father, is a BBC radio commentator, mainly for horse racing. He was likely at Lingfield racecourse when the tragedy happened.
The whole community is in shock. A neighbor who didn’t want to be named said they were a friendly family, always greeting people as they passed by. It’s really sad and shocking.
In a message to BBC Five Live staff, the incident was described as utterly devastating. They expressed their support for John and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
