Kate Middleton isn’t worried when Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis go out in public. She doesn’t stress about them behaving perfectly every time they appear. Instead, she likes seeing them act like normal kids. According to OK! magazine, an insider said Kate doesn’t worry much about their behavior and enjoys seeing them be kids.
The first public appearance for the Wales family in 2024 was at the Trooping the Colour event on June 15 in London, England. This was also Kate’s first public appearance of the year because she’s been undergoing cancer treatment. The last time the whole family was seen together was on Christmas Day 2023.
During the event, George, Charlotte, and Louis rode in a carriage with Kate, as they’ve done before. Later, they joined Prince William and other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the military planes fly by.
Trooping the Colour is a big event for the royal family, and it was especially significant this year because it was Kate’s first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. Six-year-old Louis was very excited to be at the event, according to an insider, and he often goes viral for his playful actions.
Charlotte is described as a caring older sister who helps keep Louis in line. She is very proper about these things. Kate reportedly uses a phrase, “Let’s take a break,” as a secret code to calm her kids down in public. When she says this, the children understand it’s serious and they need to behave.
Royal author Tom Quinn explains that the Wales kids know these words mean there will be consequences if they don’t behave. Each of the Wales children has gone viral for their behavior at different times. George, who turns 11 on July 22, 2024, once went viral for his excitement over a helicopter and for enjoying a candy cane during the holidays.
Charlotte made headlines at Wimbledon in 2023 for her cool demeanor, wearing sunglasses and relaxing with her hands behind her head. She also went viral for crying at her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
Louis has gone viral more than his siblings. He has been seen chatting with the late queen on the balcony, making funny faces, and recently, playfully blowing out a candle at Kate’s Christmas carol concert.
