The Shøcking Reason Why Charles Evicted Harry and Meghan from Their UK Home

Recent reports have revealed a chilling threat Prince Harry allegedly made to King Charles during a heated exchange over Frogmore Cottage. The cottage, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, was gifted to Harry and Meghan by the Queen in 2018. After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the couple agreed to repay the £2.4 million in taxpayer funds used to renovate the property.

As reported by GB News, The up coming book by Omid Scobie, When King Charles ordered Harry and Meghan to vacate Frogmore Cottage earlier this year, Harry responded by asking “Don’t you want to see your grandchildren any more?” Scobie claims Harry used his children as leverage in begging to keep the residence, though they had not lived in Frogmore Cottage since early 2020

The reported conversation highlights the breakdown in the father-son relationship. Royal experts note the timing of the Frogmore discussion, coming right after Harry publicly aired grievances against his family in his memoir Spare. Many believe the eviction order was direct retaliation for the book’s content.

Harry devoted significant pages in Spare to lambasting Charles’ parenting and his treatment of Harry’s mother Diana. He accused Charles of forcing him and brother William to walk behind Diana’s coffin at her funeral against their wishes. Harry also alleged Camilla leaked private conversations to the media to improve her public image.

The book’s revelations, including Harry’s admission he killed 25 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, stunned the royal family. In response, Charles imposed a policy of “dignified silence” – ignoring questions about Harry’s claims.

However, some senior royals pushed Charles to take action against the renegade prince. Princess Anne reportedly told Charles the best response was to strip Harry and Meghan of Frogmore Cottage. Prince Edward also voiced concerns about leaving Harry’s allegations unchallenged.

Charles heeded their advice, though the move risked permanently severing ties with Harry. It appears Charles prioritized protecting the monarchy’s reputation over reconciling with his son.

By taking away their UK base, Charles exiled the Sussexes and sent an unambiguous message – Harry’s attacks on the royals will not go unpunished. Royal experts note Charles’ unsentimental, pragmatic approach mirrors the Queen’s swift decision to strip Prince Andrew of duties and patronages over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Harry and Meghan were reportedly blindsided by the Frogmore eviction order in March 2023. The Sussexes’ spokesperson said they had offered to continue paying rent, but were rebuffed. The Sun reported Charles plans to give Frogmore Cottage to Andrew, forcing him to vacate his 30-room Royal Lodge residence.

Critics decried Charles’ decision as needlessly cruel and counterproductive. Former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said Charles was “torching bridges” with Harry, not rebuilding them. Author Shola Mos-Shogbamimu called the “spiteful” eviction unworthy of a king trying to heal family rifts.

The Frogmore row encapsulates the wider royal family feud. Harry and Meghan believe the family never fully embraced Meghan and leaked damaging stories about her to the press.
