Casper, a young dog, was found hurt and alone in the countryside near Cork. He had been badly injured, with a big wound over his left eye. Volunteers from the Cork Dog Action Welfare Group (DAWG) came to rescue him in mid-September.
Now, Casper has made an incredible recovery and has his own sofa to sleep on. But he is still in search of a forever home.
Casper, the dog, was hurt and in terrible pain, but when he saw help coming, he wagged his tail.
He was quickly taken to a shelter for treatment. He received antibiotics and had several surgeries, sadly losing one of his eyes during the long recovery.
Many people were worried that he might not survive the first night at the shelter, but he surprised everyone by pulling through. Casper has made an amazing recovery.
Now, he’s living in a foster home with a kind lady named Marie O’Donovan from Cork. She heard about his sad story online and decided to take him in.
Marie shared, “He was badly hurt, probably beaten with tools like a hammer. But despite all he’s been through, he’s a sweet and loving dog. I didn’t plan to get another dog, but when I heard about Casper, I couldn’t resist.”
Although he’s happy with Marie for now, Casper is still searching for a forever home. He’s around 4 years old, likely a greyhound mix, and is intelligent and very affectionate. The ideal home for him would be quiet so he can continue to recover and settle down comfortably.
Marie shares that Casper is a sweetheart with lots of love to share, and she hopes he finds a happy ending after his tough journey.
She mentioned, “He’s a fantastic dog with a lot to offer. I’ve been waiting for him to recover before starting any training, but I can see he’s clever and will learn fast. He truly deserves a loving home to spend the rest of his life, especially considering everything he’s endured.”
