Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accused of ‘showing-out’ at Invictus Games

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accused of trying to get favorable media coverage by attending the Invictus Games in Germany. The event is meant for injured veterans and has given the couple a chance to address negative publicity about their recent choices and business endeavors.

During the event, which coincided with Harry’s 39th birthday, the couple was seated in the audience when an announcer mentioned the Duke’s birthday and encouraged the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” to him.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield suggested that the Invictus Games provided a chance for Meghan and Harry to garner favorable media attention.

Schofield commented on the couple’s recent business endeavors, noting that they have faced setbacks. Spotify canceled their $20 million podcast deal, citing underperformance, and their $98 million Netflix deal reportedly faces challenges.

Additionally, Harry’s recent Netflix release, “Heart of Invictus,” did not achieve Top 10 rankings on the streaming platform in the UK or the US.

In early 2023, Harry released his memoir, “Spare,” which strained relations between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. The Duke criticized the Royal Family in interviews promoting the book, contributing to negative perceptions.

Schofield also mentioned the Sussexes’ social media presence, which has struggled to compete with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s authenticity and sincerity.

Prince William currently ranks as the most popular royal, while Harry ranks as the third-least popular in YouGov polls.

Cameron Walker of GB News attributed Kate and William’s strong popularity to their dedication to charitable and humanitarian causes.

Prince William’s recent visit to a Pret A Manger store in Bournemouth as part of his homelessness awareness campaign exemplifies their commitment to important issues.

Reports suggest that Kate and William are not on speaking terms with the Sussexes, and tensions persist between the brothers after Harry alleged that William attacked him in his memoir.

The Invictus Games may serve as a public relations opportunity for Meghan and Harry, allowing them to shift the focus away from their recent business setbacks and strained relations within the Royal Family.

However, their appearance also highlights the ongoing media scrutiny surrounding the couple.
