The mom of a teenager from Birmingham, who was killed last weekend, is very sad and remembers her son with love.
The teenager, Joseph Riches, was 16 years old and got stabbed in Coventry Street, Stourbridge, on Saturday evening. He was taken to Rowley Regis but sadly passed away. His mom said Joseph wanted to grow up and become a dad, but now he won’t get that chance, which makes her very devastated.
Joseph was a happy and loving son who enjoyed going to the gym. His mom is asking people to help the police find out what happened to her son.
Four people have been charged with Joseph’s murder and will appear in court today. They are Dray Simmonds and Joshua Edgington, both 19 years old, and two 16-year-old boys whose names cannot be mentioned because of the law. Dray Simmonds and one of the 16-year-old boys have also been charged with having a weapon.
Detective Inspector Laura Harrison from the police’s homicide department said they feel for Joseph’s family, who are devastated by losing their child. The investigation is still going on, and they ask anyone who can help to contact them. They are checking CCTV and making inquiries. The police thank the public and local community for their support so far.
Today, there will be more police activity around Stourbridge bus station as they ask people for more information.
