A tragic incident occurred at The Telford Langley School, Dawley, resulting in the untimely death of a young boy. Despite the prompt response from bystanders and medical professionals, all efforts to save the child were in vain, and he passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
Emergency services, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, were summoned to the school on Friday afternoon (June 16) in response to a reported “medical emergency.” Within a mere six minutes of receiving the distress call, paramedics arrived on the scene to find the unidentified boy in a critical condition.
The child was swiftly transported to Princess Royal Hospital, where regrettably, his demise was confirmed shortly after his arrival. Authorities have determined that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service provided details, stating, “We were notified of a child who had collapsed at Langley School in Dawley, Telford. The first ambulance arrived within six minutes of the call, and it was supported by a second ambulance, a paramedic manager, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford. Upon arrival, the medical teams discovered the patient in a critical condition, already receiving assistance from bystanders. Our crews promptly took over and administered advanced care to the child before transporting him to Princess Royal Hospital with emergency lights activated.”
“The doctor and critical care paramedic from the air ambulance accompanied the ambulance crew during the journey to the hospital, where medical personnel were prepared to receive the child. Tragically, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, it soon became evident that nothing could be done to save the child, and his passing was confirmed,” added the spokesperson.
A spokesperson from the West Mercia Police also commented, saying, “We were informed by the West Midlands Ambulance Service that they were responding to a medical emergency involving a child at a Telford school. Unfortunately, the child passed away in the hospital that same afternoon. No suspicious circumstances are being considered in relation to the incident. Our thoughts are with the family and friends during this difficult time.”
