John Cleese, who is 83 years old join GB News, recently expressed his understanding and support for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In an interview with Camilla Tominey, Cleese shared that if given the choice, he would prefer to have dinner with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over other members of the Royal Family. However, he also made sure to mention his admiration for Princess Anne, whom he had met a couple of times on Celebrity Knockout.
When asked about the apparent contradiction of the Sussexes seeking both fame and privacy, Cleese made an interesting observation. He noted that people who seek attention and put themselves out there tend to receive a lot of media coverage. In his opinion, the solution lies in not giving too much attention to such exhibitionists. Cleese suggested that the media should focus less on certain topics, including the ongoing ITV drama involving Phillip Schofield.
While Cleese spoke highly of Princess Anne, he recently drew a comparison between King Charles’s Coronation oath and former US President Donald Trump. This might imply some criticism or skepticism towards the new king’s allegiance. Nevertheless, Cleese expressed excitement about his upcoming work with GB News. He plans to create unique shows that break away from conventional formats and discuss topics of personal interest with knowledgeable individuals.
During the interview with Tominey, Cleese also touched upon subjects such as Fawlty Towers and the British media. The Camilla Tominey Show on GB News features notable guests like David Davis, Lord John Hutton, Ross Clarke, and Alexander Downer, the former foreign minister of Australia, who also contributes to the paper review segment. The show airs every Sunday at 9.30am on GB News.
